A SharePoint administrator opens the SharePoint admin center, goes to More features and opens Apps. On the Manage apps page, choose Upload and pick the file. When asked, choose Only enable this app: ExposurePoint then appears in the web part list on every site, ready for site owners to add. It asks for no API permissions, so there is nothing to approve.
Add it to a page
On the site, edit a page (or create one), choose the plus sign to add a web part, search for ExposurePoint and add it. Publish the page. The score appears straight away.
Enter your licence key
Choose Enter licence key in the web part and paste your key. If saving for every site is refused, edit the page, open the web part's settings, paste the key under Licence and apply. No key yet? Get a free trial key.
Settings
In the web part's settings.
Maximum items to scan
How many files and list items are checked for their own permissions. 5,000 by default, up to 50,000 for large sites.
Where to keep history
On this site (the default), or on one central site that holds the history for many sites.
Licence
Paste keys here when they cannot be saved for every site. The daily check-in switch is here too.
Appearance
Light, dark or follow the site; text size; spacing; the title; and the "this score covers this site only" note.
Troubleshooting
If something looks wrong.
"Some checks could not be completed"
You can read less of the site than ExposurePoint needs, or SharePoint asked it to slow down. Open it as a site owner, or wait a minute and choose Re-scan. The score only counts what could be read.
There are no Fix buttons
Fixes are only offered to people who can manage permissions on the site. Ask a site owner, or download the report and send it to them. In the free preview, the fixes need a licence or trial.
"Only someone who can edit your app catalog can save a key for every site"
Saving a key for every site writes it to your app catalog, so it needs someone who can edit the app catalog, usually a SharePoint administrator. Ask them to enter the key once, or open the web part's settings and paste it under Licence; it works the same for that site.
"Licence not checked"
ExposurePoint could not read its licence just now, so it shows the free preview. Reload the page. If it persists, check the key in the web part's settings and email us.
"There may be more"
Very large sites have more files than one check covers. Raise "Maximum items to scan" in the web part settings, or fix the listed items first and re-scan.
